For European Microfinance Week, our client faced a new challenge this year, switching to a 100% digital format due to the health crisis. Our team worked resiliently to adapt the event, one of the industry's benchmarks, by creating a captivating online experience. With over 100 speakers and 600 participants over 3 days, our main objective was to maintain audience engagement despite the fatigue of virtual meetings.
The biggest challenge was to keep the audience engaged, all in a context where everyone was complaining about virtual meeting fatigue. So we opted for shorter, more dynamic and concise formats. Dynamic motion design and a virtual speaker helped keep participants attentive and interested. Our second challenge was to facilitate networking between participants. As networking is one of the major assets of this conference in normal times, it was important for participants to find this in a new form. We therefore opted for free networking times during well-defined hours in dedicated networking rooms. As the conference language was English, simultaneous interpretation was provided in French and Spanish.
