René Matthieu, chef of the Michelin-starred restaurant "La Distillerie" and voted best vegetarian chef in the world in 2020, approached us following the renovation of his dining room. He wanted a design that reflected his gastronomic style and highlighted his kitchen, which was worthy of a painting. The customer also wanted to incorporate sketches made by the chef to illustrate the creative process behind the creation of a dish in a Michelin-starred restaurant. The paintings need to be designed so that they can be changed with the seasons.
We worked closely with René Matthieu to create an artistic setting in keeping with his gastronomic vision. We chose photographs that highlighted his dishes, capturing their remarkable beauty and aesthetics. We carefully selected the size and placement of each photo, ensuring that they harmoniously complemented the restaurant space. At the same time, we hung small frames containing the chef's sketches, offering a glimpse into the creative process behind each exceptional dish. This approach creates a unique and evolving atmosphere, adapted to the seasons and to René Matthieu's culinary creativity.
